SPECTER 6.5 Creedmoor — what was the technical specification?

💬In the video we talked about how the initiator of creating the SPECTER rifle in the new 6.5CM caliber was our good friend and passionate shooter. We are publishing the technical specification, which he prepared:

1. Caliber 6.5 Creedmoor. Long barrel life –
2500+ rounds.

2. After firing at maximum optical scope magnification, the rifle must remain on target.

3. Minimal recoil and the ability to train 100+ rounds per day with minimal strain on the shooter.

4. Accuracy no more than 0.35 MOA. Series of 5 groups of 3 shots.

5. Rifle balance at the middle part of the stock. The total assembled rifle weight is preferably closer to 14 kg, to avoid the need for additional weights where possible. Ideal rifle balance, with plans to shoot from a tripod and in an unstable position.

6. Short bolt throw. The bolt group must ensure fast reloading during rapid fire. Smooth bolt movement, absence of misalignment and binding.

7. Magazine capacity of at least 8 rounds. Moreover, the bullet when feeding from the magazine must not be scratched or touch the feed ramp, to allow assembling ammunition with minimal neck tension on the case mouth. Ability to single-feed from the shelf. Extended C.O.A.L.

8. Individual chamber for a specific ammunition size assembled by the customer for Berger hybrid bullets 144 gr and 153.5 gr.

9. Velocity for 153.5 gr no less than 830 m/s. Wide and stable node, do not tune to maximum velocities.

10. Two barrels in the same caliber included. One barrel in HV contour and a match heavy barrel in MTU contour. Both barrels 28–31 inches (711–787 mm) with the same ammunition recipes.

11. Maximum thick barrel contour: 31–35 mm at the breech and 24 mm at the muzzle.

12. The bolt group must withstand no less than 20 barrel replacements and maintain its original specifications throughout its entire service life. That is, a multiple safety margin for all major components.

13. A ready-made muzzle brake solution, maximally effective for this caliber.

14. Scope mount, optics, and level installed and zeroed, as well as a case, individual cleaning insert, and additional magazines.

15. The rifle must be broken in and reach its working velocities without further velocity increase.

16. A set of reference ammunition assembled in-house for verifying the rifle's accuracy.

17. Absence of mirage.

18. Final ammunition recipe for hand-loading using three powder options, including domestic ones. As well as go/no-go gauges for the final C.O.A.L. adjustment.

19. Bipod mounting on the stock both for Arca Swiss and Picatinny rail, positioned as far forward as possible for proper recoil management.
