“Meets all modern requirements”: what is known about the new Russian Specter sniper rifle
The Moscow Arms Company has unveiled its new Specter sniper rifle. The weapon was developed with the direct involvement of snipers serving in the zone of military operations. According to the developers, the new rifle is extremely accurate, reliable, and stable. It was tested under the most severe operating conditions, high loads, and critical contamination. Analysts surveyed by RT noted the high quality of the Specter's manufacture and gave a positive assessment of its market prospects.
The Moscow Arms Company (BespokeGun brand) has begun production of a new generation of Specter sniper rifles. According to the company's press release, the product was developed with the direct participation of snipers serving in the zone of military operations. The designers took into account the experience of the military and the tasks they face.
It is specified that the factory testing cycle was carried out in the shortest possible time under the most severe operating conditions, critical contamination, and extreme loads.
The rifle's strength was increased without adding weight by using innovative materials in the manufacture of the stock. In addition, the reliability of the product has been increased through the use of a new bolt assembly. This component was created using hardened martensitic steel and a high-tech coating, which increased its service life and smoothness of operation, as well as reducing wear on moving parts.
The multiple safety margin and the quality of the bolt assembly allow snipers to use higher-powered ammunition, shoot from higher elevations, and use new high-energy calibers, such as .33XC, according to the Moscow Arms Company.
Precision manufacturing (using computer-controlled machine tools) and factory tuning of the rifle have made it possible to achieve “extreme accuracy” when shooting at small targets at ultra-long ranges.
The product is available in several versions. The Specter Tactical sniper system is designed for combat use and can fire .338 LM, .33XC, .300 NM, and .300 PRC ammunition. The Specter Sport, chambered for 6.5 PRC and 6.5 Creedmoor cartridges, is designed for sport shooting.
The company added that in order to significantly improve the performance characteristics of the new rifles and respond quickly to customer requests and needs, the company has increased its production capacity several times over, expanded its fleet of precision equipment, and hired more highly qualified employees.
Earlier, Yaroslav Tabolsky, CEO of the Moscow Arms Company, said in an interview with RT that BespokeGun rifles are used by soldiers from dozens of different specialized units of the Russian Armed Forces.
In particular, the Raptor Tactical .338 LM sniper rifle is used in the Joint Forces Operation zone. It is capable of effectively hitting targets at a range of up to 1,850 meters. The weight of the weapon without additional accessories is 7.1 kg, and the accuracy of fire “does not exceed 0.3 angular minutes and tends to 0.1,” said the head of the company.
