«The hunt turned out to be no easy feat. Our group had to set out with a fly camp into new, previously almost unexplored areas of the Khara-Ulakh mountain range.
Changeable weather, rain, and wildfire smoke carried by the wind complicated the search. We had to change locations and look for sheep all over again.
By the end of the trip, all my companions had already taken their trophies, while trophy males kept eluding me. All that time — moving, searching, guides, and a rifle on my back.
Luck smiled upon me right at the very end of the hunt.
An old male was lying alone on a hillside.
Distance — 550 meters.
Angle — −7°.
Wind — from 5 o'clock, 3 m/s.
The shooting conditions were excellent, so I did not wait for the animal to stand up.
After the shot, the trophy stayed in place, giving me the opportunity to calmly take some great photos and bring this challenging hunt to a beautiful close».
